The Sarantel GeoHelix™ GPS antenna has been used in a range of PDAs and PNDs (Portable Navigation Devices) like the HP iPAQ RX5900 Travel Companion, Royaltek's Empus and TomTom's Mobile 5 Bluetooth GPS Receiver.
Handheld GPS products need to offer reliable reception while being used near humans. While conventional antennas de-tune and become inefficient when they come in contact with RF-absorbing materials like the user's hand or head, GeoHelix™ GPS antennas stay on frequency regardless of how they are used.
GPS-enabled PDAs and PNDs with a Sarantel antenna also work in random orientations because of the antenna's omni-directional capability. This removes the burden on users to orient the device in order to achieve reliable performance.
